- I think if you melt sand colored candle wax, and add some real sand (experiment to see how much sand). Then use blue colored candle wax for the water. This will also work with melting resin, but resin is harder to work with than wax.
- maybe you could put some rocks in it or cement
- OK, I'm a finish carpenter so that's where I'm coming from (lol) could you use sand paper to line the inside of the bottle? Cut it to whatever height you want, roll it loosely and it should roll back out to line the bottle. Not sure how you were planning to display it, but that might work. My other thought is fill it with sand, then use an epoxy on top of the sand, i would line the neck of the bottle with paper so the epoxy doesn't get all over it. Take a straw and make sure the epoxy has made good contact with the bottle, then either add sand into it (it should mix ok) or let it cure natural, if you get a "clear" epoxy, you can use that to simulate water, that is what a lot of model builders use. You can get epoxy at any hardware store and it will say right on the package "clear", "white" etc. wow I wrote a novel, GOOD LUCK!!
- Mix sand with elmers glue. miz it until it forms a putty. push what you want into bottle. let it dry completly. it will dry clear. then add your other elements.
- Pour sand in the bottle to the level you want. then pour a craft glue[one made for puzzles or fabric]. let it dry for to or more days. That should do it. try it with a small large mouth jar at first.
