Beach Sand Crafts???????

I have a friend who went on a vacation and brought me back some sand (as I had asked her to). I was wondering what kinds of cool things I can do with this. We're also going to the beach for a vacation this summer and i'd like to make something with some sand that I get from there. I was thinking maybe making a jar candle...any other ideas? Yeah that's what I was thinking. I have a strong feeling my boyfriend of 4 years will propose there (girls intuition :P) anyways even if not...it will be his first time seeing the ocean and our first time there together so I wanted a little souvenir I could make myself :-) wow you guys are really creative! thanks so much!!

1. haha omg i asked my friend to do the same ting for me ! and my sand ended up in my fish bowl lol but yea but it in a cool candle holder like a really big wine glass or something with a candle on top of it or a plate like thing with candles on it that would be pretty
2. When you go to the beach pick up shells, small drift wood, rocks, or anything else that you find interesting laying on the beach. Also take a picture of the two of you at the beach. Then get a fish bowl and fill it with the sand, shells, wood, and anything else that you may of found. Rearange how you like it then leave it how it is or tape the picture of the two of you onto the glass of the bowl.
3. Go to a craft store like Michaels, JoAnns, etc. They have wooded frames. Apply glue to the frame and cover it with the sand. Let dry. Add more glue and sand and let this dry. You can do a third coat if you wish. Then glue shells and pearl beads in a corner or two. Put a picture of you two taken at the beach in the frame.
