Where can I buy a bag of sand for a school project?

I am a second grade teacher and we are finishing up a unit on the ocean. I wanted to use sand for different art projects and to use in our unit on the desert.

10. u can get a very cheap bag of sand at walmarts in the garden section. i just recently bought some. its called "play sand" i use it to mix w/my potting soil for drainage.

12. I found some very nice colored sand in medium size bags at the local WalMart.
13. I can't believe that your school district allowed you to be a teacher. If I asked "Where can I buy a gallon of milk?", do you think that would be a stupid question?
