- making halloween themed desserts or making there own halloween costumes decorating the house
- There are cute, kid-friendly crafts at these sites. http://www.enchantedlearning.com/crafts/halloween/ http://familycrafts.about.com/od/halloween/Halloween_Crafts_for_Families.htm http://www.makingfriends.com/halloween.htm Enjoy!
- You could make different decorations for the house and yard. Make ghost out of white trash bags and newspaper. Cut bats out of black construction paper and tape to the walls. You can have them decorate pumpkin if you don't want then to carve any.
- One of my old favorites is the blessing tree. It's best used a little later in the fall, when we're thinking of Thanksgiving. It can be a really good "transition" craft for right after Halloween. Each kid traces his or her hand onto fall-leaf-colored construction paper (yellow, tan, brown, red, orange, etc) and cuts it out. If time and paper supplies permit, 3 or 4 per kid would be great. On each cutout, the child writes a blessing he or she has. In a secular situation, have them write something for which they're thankful or grateful. On the wall, have a cutout of a large bare tree done in dark brown paper. (If you can't do it, chances are someone in your circle of acquaintance can manage it. Don't be bashful; ask around.) The kids tape or glue their cutout handprints to the bare branches of the tree.
- pumpkin carving, toilet paper crafts, decorate house with scariest stuff, design costumes by yourself, make variety treats,
- My grocery store had white pumpkins for $4. Get cheap acrylic paint (micheal's has them for 50 cents) and pipe cleaners etc. and let them decorate the pumpkins without having to cut into them. Paper, stickers, markers and a glue stick for Halloween cards, Treat bags masks
- Our Children have really enjoyed making the foam pumpkins and foam candy corn man. I purchased these foam art kits from Pat Catan's but they are probably available at Micheal's or Hobby Lobby also. They are not that expensive to purchase. We glued magnets to the back of them so they decorate our frig. You may want to checkout www.perlerbeads.com also. The buckets of beads cost about $10. On the website they have different patterns on how to make some cute halloween decorations and for other holidays also...
