Sand Art Crafts

Is an atheist house, a house of sand and an empty work of art.?

I think its really all nothing but a statistical anomaly. Once that high tide of Gods truth comes crashing in you will all be begging us believers for a loaf of bread and a place to stay.

  1. You live by the ocean or something?
  2. When we die God will roast our souls and eat them. And lots of heavenly salsa.
  3. yep that sounds about right
  4. I would never want to live with such a cruel and callous God and his people, then. "You're either with us or against us" type of mentality. So if I don't accept your dogma, then I die. Fine by me. I'd rather be erased then live on in eternity with people who are so intolerant.
  5. When Nietzsche spoke about revenge being the main motivation for Christianity, you are exactly what he had in mind. Evangelism. The passive-agressive religion.
  6. *wide atheist grin* Yeah, sure...
  7. It happens to be an empty work of art!
  8. Have you ever thought about how your god condemns his children to hell for eternity because they don't want to worship him?
  9. man ud think since yall are supposed to be so nice... that yall would be handin it out... but hey good to see the hypocrisy is still alive in the christian church. at least yall are consistent. : )
  10. God has had billions of years to show his truth. Either he doesn't exist or he is one heck of a procrastinator. The Bible is just hearsay from thousands of years ago. That is not evidence at all. The problem with hearsay is its not verifiable to any outside parties. If someone were to accept hearsay from thousands of years ago they might as well accept the Pagan or the Hindu Gods. Modern personal experiences are the same. There are all sorts of people going around saying they were abducted by aliens, or saw bigfoot. People who even say they saw God and its Allah instead. There is no way to verify their experience so its not evidence and is not something that will lead anyone to any truth. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anecdotal On top of that, no one even knows who these original authors were. They don't even know their names. The names Mark, Matthew, Luke and John were added a whole century after the gospels were supposedly written. These people could have been anybody. Including con-artists, scammers, etc. If you saw any other book written around 2000 years ago and no one knew the authors and it said the author had a flying pet camel, would you believe it? People can say anything, about anything in books. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gospels For decades the original authors (evangelists) didn't even write down the gospels. They passed it down orally. This could have been a story that they made up for all we know. Also can you remember in precise detail something that happened 40 years ago, without ever writing it down? Things could have been forgotten, things could be embellished, or added for all anyone knows. I couldn't even remember a song or play precisely over that span of time. Also look up the childs game called "Telephone" it will give you an idea of what passing things on orally are like. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gospels#Oral_tradition There are also prophecy claims. It is very easy to make a prophecy fulfilled. Its trying to match up words with the countless events in history. Some people can also make a prophecy vague and something they thought was probably going to happen. They can get away with it that way. Another way is if the person knew the prophecy beforehand and intentionally made it happen. Since the bible is one of the most widely known books, people are able to do that. Which makes its prophecies not credible. I have to say, I really don't see any difference between faith (believing in things without evidence) and gullibility. There is no way to tell between religions that use blind faith to get people to believe in something irrational so they manipulate people to do things good or bad. Something that doesn't want to give you evidence is very suspicious because its the same behaviour a con artist has. You don't prove to people you are a king by showing up looking like a thief. So there is no way to show people who already do not believe. Critical thought is something we humans need to determine if something is good or bad. If the Christian God punishes people for not believing in that, they are punished for being reasonable and wanting to know if what they are doing is truely good. Which would be irrational of a God that claims to be good. It is not good when we sacrifice the indispensable tool of reason on the altar of superstition, then putting a label of moral authority on it.
  11. Since most of us Europeans and Japanese are atheists our houses are well decorated with facts and truth and therefore are harbours of peace, happiness and understanding. They are often rather quiet compared to religious households, none of that constant shouting, hand clapping and out of tune singing to an imaginary deity to spoil the peace of the day. Food and housing are plentiful in a well organised country. Try Japan, Sweden or the delights of rural France.
  12. Dude, I live in a house made of wood and brick...if you're having problems with your sand castle you should contact your contractor...or the little kids with shovels and pales. Good luck with that.
  13. I'm not here to bash on anyone here, like almost everyone else here, but the only difference between an Atheist's house and a Christian's house is that a Christian's house would have more religious items, depending on how "spiritually guided" you are personally I'm on the fence between atheism and Christianity; I've heard of (some of) the Christian beliefs, but to me, I'll believe in most anything you can prove to me with evidence (saying "The bible says it's true" doesn't count because that's not evidence, it's a book) (no one believes in everything they read in books, that's why i prefer in evidence and facts, not he said/she said) if i offended anyone then i am sorry, i was merely just stating my opinion, trying to be as unoffensive as possible
