Sand Art Crafts

10 yeard old daughter's craft party?

My daughter is turning 10 July 27, and I am trying to think of a fun birthday party. Last year she had a luah party and she really liked that, but this year i was thinking maybe a craft party? I could get a lot of tables and set them out and on one i could put like washable paint and paper and one could have coloring books ,crayons, and markers.. and one could have the different colored sand that you put into bottles.. but what other kind of crafts could we put out? she is really into arts and crafts so i just know she would like this.

  1. I make jewelery, and there are many types of beading projects that are just right for that age. You should find all you need in your local arts and crafts store ( Michael's ) They sell all the beads by bulk, and several types of stretchy string or wire. ( I suggest string...wire is very sharp) It shows you how to tie the knot on the package. You can make necklaces and anklets with the same beads and string. They can help at the store to let ya know what ya need. Scrapbooking is always fun too. Good Luck...and happy birthday to your daughter!
  2. Well, you could make little dolls. 1- Have all the girls at party (or you) draw dolls, then have them decorate with little things like pom pom balls, markers, pencils, gel pens, etc. 2- Take some of those pipe-cleaners. Use One long one for a body, two for arms, two for legs, and one for head. Then have girls draw clothing with markers and other on paper. Have them glue it (glue in bottle, not stick) onto the pipe cleaner dolls. Take colored paper of all colors and roll them up to look like those princess hats. Have everyone decorate them with pom poms balls, gel pens, markers, colored pencils, stickers, etc. But that's a bit kiddish for her, I dunno. Oh! You could buy a bunch of flower pots, and make sure to have paint in the house, and have them paint flower pots. We did this in 4th grade for Mother's Day and it was fun. But put newspaper over the tables first. Have a good party!
