How would I make gold dirt/sand?

My friend and I are doing a photo shoot for her philosophy class, and I need to make a kind of gold dirt/sand to splatter on her face. How would I make that gold dirt/sand and make it adhesive? What could I mix with some craft sand to make it sticky and clumpy? And what kind of adhesive do I put on her face to get the sand to stick?

1. Hmm, i would use glue that is safe to use on skin. And to make it clumpy you can mix it with clay or play doh. I don't know what you could use to make it sticky though...hope this helps.
