Has anyone ever done a sand ceremony indoors?
I want to do an indoor sand ceremony at the church. Need some details on order of things. We are using a glass vase from the craft store with 3 smaller vases filled with colored regular sand. White sand will already be in the larger vase to represent God as the basis of the marriage, then my fiancee will add his blue sand, then I'll add my tan sand and his 8 year old son will add his light blue sand. Has anyone done this before and what other details can you add? Does regular craft store sand work or does it have to be the more expensive "crystalline quartz sand" that is advertised on wedding sites?

- I am getting married on June 27th and I am also using a sand ceremony indoors. I don't think the type of sand matters, sand is sand... I'm confused as to why that would matter??
- I performed a beach wedding and they used craft store sand it worked fine. My only advice for indoors is make sure something is underneath the vases to make cleanup of any spills easier. Congrats & best wishes.
- I bought my vases from Oriental Trading and the big one was etched. We bought there craft sand...blue and white. I would just add a couple of notes... 1.) Pour slow...it goes fast. 2.) If you use craft sand, some dust will come up out of the vase and make the area "smokey" for a few seconds. 3.) Find a lid for your vase if it didn't come with it. We love ours very much and everyone loved it too because its still a relatively new thing.
- i have only ever seen it done with two sands but i like the god idea and including your son in it. i plan on doing it but im having and out door wedding. i dont see anything wrong with the idea. walmart has sand. nice natural looking tan sand
