Homeschooling moms, how do you set up your classroom areas? My daughters are 3 and 5 and as they are about to go into the elementary grades homeschooling is going to get more complicated. Currently, their classrooom area where preschool and kindergarten takes place is two rooms in our house that connect to each other. The first room is set up like a classroom but smaller. I have a desk with a computer which is also somewhat of an office area for me. I have children's books, and two desks for the girls with compartments that slide out where they can keep their folders and markers. There is a tv for wathing educational dvds. I have workbooks for them and a desk with a computer in the room too and school supplies in bins. The next room doubles as a playroom for the girls but is also where art, music and recess takes place. There's toys, easels, craft supplies a few cheap little knicknack instruments.

What should I charge for my hand-embroidered work? For a few years I have embroidered by hand. Usually I give my work to friends and family for special occasions. I have finally refined my work enough to attempt making a profit from it! I have a pre-screening appointment next month at an art retailer in my town. They buy crafts from local artisans and mark them up enough to make a profit from them. It's a very nice shop, and I know lots of artisans have made a great deal of money working with them. I just know they will ask me what I think my work is worth! If you embroider, then you know that the supplies are very cheap: it's basically needles, hoops, thread and cloth. I would be charging for basically just the time and energy invested in the work (and it takes a long time). I have read to charge three times the cost of supplies, as well as other formulas. But when the supplies are very inexpensive, how do you determine the worth of a craft? If there are any embroiderers out there who have sold work, I'd love to hear from you!

Psychologists or psychiatrists - what is my condition called? I know I've got that hoarding syndrome and I have some OCD, but I don't know if that's it or if I've got other related mind problems. I just want to know so that if I want to do research about it, I can look it up. It's just really exhausting to have the brain that I have. People don't really understand. I watch too much TV to try to escape and not think, but I end up recording too much and I make TV watching into one of my many jobs. I take the time to show my husband things that are interesting or funny, I think I have to write things down (if they seem important to me), and I also have to tape some things from my DVR onto a tape. It's annoying, because I know I will never watch most of the hundreds of tapes I've piled up over the years. I rarely throw anything away. Magazines have too much important health information, recipes, etc and I can't seem to get rid of them (even though I have many, many of them). I like a lot of things (cheap jewelry, collectibles, Christmas decorations, craft supplies, etc) and I find it hard to part with them. I always think I might need something later. (I know, that's the hoarding thing.) I write tons of notes every day. Many of them are about making changes to get myself healthier, prettier, more organized, etc. I can't seem to make any changes at all, though. I grab a notebook and write my plans for change, but can't do it. I have thousands of e-mails under various names, and they are mostly from myself - links to look at, notes to myself, things I need to do or remember. I can't get them under control or find time to do them. My mind just feels like it is constantly working. I know I need to simplify my life and calm my mind, but I just don't know where to start. Can anyone label what my mental problems are and point me in the right direction for getting some help? I'm not feeling strong enough to handle counseling right now. (I've tried that, and it just freaks me out too much.) I would be willing to take medication, but I can't right now because of my long-standing health problems (conditions which can't tolerate the chemicals). I just need some self-help tips to get me started toward being and feeling more normal. I mean, everyone I know seems to be pretty nuts to some degree, but I do think I'm the worst of the bunch. I know I sound self-centered because my problems do take over my mind a lot, but I actually do do things for other people - like my husband, my mother-in-law, and other people. I know I allow my own problems to take over my life too much, though, so doing more for others is a good suggestion, though right now it's hard to feel like I can find the time or energy. Sometimes I spend a few hours helping people on Yahoo Answers. It's amazing, but I can actually be helpful to some people, even though my own life is a mess.

Decorating denim tote bag? I bought a large, plain demin tote bag at the craft store for cheap. I wanna decorate it and turn it into somthing nice, that I can use for school. How can I decorate it without making it look tacky or homemade? I have already iron pressed on red jewels in a heart pattern at the top of the bag between the handles. Here are some of the other supplies I have that I can work with: - Fabrics:: blue(with white design), pink, purple, green (with white design) , pink (with black polkadots), grey - Ribbon :: plain purple, flowered pink, striped purple and pink - Fabric glue And that is all. How to convert my shed into a arts and craft workshop for my hobby? I have a large shed at the bottom of the garden. The shed already has a power supply and lighting. The power supply was fitted by a professional and im assuming seen as there is electric supply in there it is damp proof ect. Now what i need to know is whats the cheapest way to turn my shed into a lovely little get away. It has no insulation on the walls and the need boarding over to make a flat surface for painting but i dont have a clue what sort of boards I would need for this. Do i need to insulate the shed, it gets quite warm in the summer but does have a double glazed window and lots of plug sockets. Im wondering if it would make a big difference to insulate it, instead of getting a heater off ebay for the winter. I wont be spending all day in there so... RSVP Etiquette? Or lack of...? I guess I'm just irked, but I sent out party invitation to all my daughters' classmates on a Friday. (2nd grade). RSVP's were requested by the following Friday, I even sent stickers home with the kids as "reminders" and the party was the following week (Sat). Two parents RSVP'd without the reminder, one RSVP'd with the reminder... two called the day before the party and one just "dropped off" without warning! After my initial shock, not to mention scramble to get "goodies" together for the child, I guess I have to be thankful that my daughter has freinds that would want to attend her party, but am I being unreasonable to expect RSVP requests be respected? I mean, I had to account for people to feed, adults included, the usual guest gifts - I don't give cheap plastic bags with a few pieces of candy in it... drinks, supplies from crafts to plates, cups and forks. I need some costume ideas asap! Please help.? I'm going to a Halloween party tomorrow night (adults only) and my finances have been really tight lately. I had to buy my daughter a costume for trick-or-treating so I just can't shell out another $50-75 for a costume for myself. I know I can get one cheaper than that but I despise those one size fits most thing-ama-jiggies that you see at retail stores. So I need some ideas for a costume I can create myself with things I already own and just buy minimal accessories or key items. I want it to be sexy not scary. The columns were hand crafted showing the t’zar religion’s Gods. Another smile crept across my face, what idiot would believe in religion? “Chase! What we gunna’ do?” “Shut up, I should never have brought you, you’re far too stupid” “*cough*, sorry master, but-“the rustle of heavy boots kindly intervened; this was their exit. Well mine. I grabbed my rather unworthy companion who was still dancing around nervously on his feet and as it fitted in with my rather brilliant plan, I threw him out of the King’s balcony (I already had expertise in this but that’s a different story). I was gone before the incapable knit-wit even hit the floor, I hid underneath the King’s knighthood table (swords were banned from knighthoods since King Pallius slipped and beheaded himself, therefore letters of formal consent were chosen by the following King). Combination of Dried & Fresh Flowers? My dad's cousin has offered to create my floral arrangements for me as a wedding gift (provided I supply the cost of the materials, which I don't mind). She is completely happy with me choosing whatever I'd like and making it for me. My mother has made it clear that she expects me and the bridal party to be sporting fresh florals the day of. I've given up talking to her about it because she just yells, gets angry, and won't listen (she's also paying for the wedding along with Drew's parents). But because my cousin would only have an hour and a half to set up for the wedding due to venue rules, and because she's not actually a florist (just a hobby of hers), I'm afraid that asking her to do bouquets and centerpieces would tax her time, her energy, and her fridge. I recently bought one foot tall apothecary jars for my center pieces and I'm quite happy with them. My idea is to go ahead and ask for a simple bouquet arrangements for the day of. But for centerpieces, fill the apothecary jars with dried white flowers and some dried greenery. John McCain's New Mortgage Plan Is Worse than I Had Imagined Possibly, Even Given What I Know About John McCain Douglas Holtz-Eakin says, this morning: [W]e would in fact be taking the negative equity position and putting it on the taxpayers books instead of putting it on the private lenders books or the homeowners books. We think the balance of risk has shifted to the point where this is the way to go... What does this mean? It means that John McCain wants to give $100 billion of taxpayers' money to America's worst-behaving mortgage financiers. Let's back up. For the past month the debate about how to deal with the collapse of the debt-trading portion of America's financial markets has been between two plans: the Paulson plan and the Elmendorf plan: The Paulson Plan: Have the government buy up distressed securities at market value, thus reducing the supply of high-yield debt securities that the private sector must hold. When you reduce the supply of anything you raise its price. Hence the Paulson plan's $700 billion purchases will push the prices of risky debt securities up, and so companies will then be able to sell their bonds again and so hire more workers, and depression will be averted. The Elmendorf Plan: Have the government directly invest in and take an equity stake in troubled banks, thus reassuring their depositors and creditors that they are sound. The banks will then be able to profit by buying up distressed securities--hence raising their prices--and by directly lending to companies that will then be able to hire more workers, and depression will be averted. The argument for the Paulson plan was that the Elmendorf plan was socialism. The argument for the Elmendorf plan was that it held the promise of doing a much better job of preventing depression, for each dollar committed to the Paulson plan reduces the gap between the demand and supply of distressed securities by only $1, while each dollar invested in a bank is then leveraged 8-to-1 as bank creditors and depositors are then willing to keep more money in the bank and so reduces the gap between the demand and supply of distressed securities by $8. Eight times as much bang for each federal buck, and the Elmendorf plan ensured that the taxpayers were protected to a greater extent: we did not just have the socialization of loss after the privatization of gain, we had the socialization of any gains that might occur if banks' equity values ever recovered. The argument for passing Paulson-Dodd-Frank was: Time is of the essence: something needs to be done right now. Paulson-Dodd-Frank has sufficient flexibility that Assistant Secretary Neel Kashkari and his successors can do either Paulson or Elmendorf, at their judgment.
